Software Product Line Tools Evaluation

If anybody has done evaluation of software product line tools, can share his experience with me. If you have not

performed the evaluation, I will appreciate your suggestions, comments, and help.

Why Software Product Lines?

I took my PhD program comprehensive exam part B yesterday. This is an oral exam. My committee members asked my questions about their fields of interests. I did good. They also asked me some basic idea about my field of interest, which is SPLs. But for one question, I did not answer very well. This question is: Why do we want to apply SPLs? Why do we need visualization techniques in SPLs?
I always don't know how to answer this kind of questions, any suggestion?

Opportunity to tell your story

I should have pointed out at PPL 2009 that we are assembling a special issue of IEEE Software on industrial successes of software product lines. The deadline is early November with about a week of flexibility. Short papers that present actual experiences would be very welcome.

PPL2009 - Day 2

Practical Product Lines 2009 - Day 1

Yesterday was the first day of the first Practical Product Lines Conference. I was off for a bad start, my train got delayed, and then it got delayed even more because a lady decided to get stuck between the doors of a train that was supposed to leave before mine. She was unharmed in the end, but I got another 10 minute delay out of it.

So, I arrived about 20 minutes late in Jan Bosch' keynote, just in time to here him explain how… Continue
